Welcome to my first blog post and happy April!
I have been working on creating a blog since August but I was always too busy since I was a working mother with a toddler which meant little free time for me. However, I am happy to say that I am now on track to take this wonderful journey called blogging. It will be a great way for my adult children to keep in touch since they will soon be embarking on their own journey away from home. And if my hubby and I ever decide to take that leap to move away from the city life then this blog will provide them with details of our country life.
For now I am excited to share details of my life which will include anything and everything that goes on in my world which is located in the great big state of Texas. I am originally from the windy city but was raised in the Lone Star State. Although I am surrounded by Texans and Cowboys fans, I am still a Bears fan, Cubs fan and Bulls fan at heart. How about them Cubs on winning the World Series. Talk about an emotional roller coaster.
On a lighter note, I currently have a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography and a Master’s degree in Education with my content focus being in History. Living in Texas can be crazy at times with unpredictable weather changes but I love the idea of being surrounded by all the history that took place in this great big state. It makes road trips a lot more fun. And with summer around the corner I am looking forward to taking a few of those with my family.
I am currently counting down the Mondays to summer vacation and I only have 8 more Mondays to go. One place I have in mind for a road trip is Marfa, Texas. Yes, you read that correctly; the small town of Marfa that is known as one of the best hidden places to visit in Texas. Location is pretty much the middle of nowhere but I read there is a lot of interesting things to see and do. Be sure to keep checking for updates since I will be featuring the town of Marfa in a future post.
Thanks for stopping by!
