It is Friday and the weekend is here.
If the weather is anything like it has been these last couple of days, then Galveston will be a great place for a quick getaway. My husband and I like to take a drive to Galveston Island every now and then just to get away from the city life. It’s a nice little break for the both of us and our little one enjoys watching the ocean waves while trying to feed the seagulls.
There is so much to see and do on the island, for example there is the Lone star Biker Rally, usually held at the end of October or beginning of November, Dickens on the Strand which is held in December and then there is Mardi Gras in February to name a few. During these events we tend to spend our time on the Strand since my sister has a store and it makes things a lot more convenient for us especially with a toddler.
In between events my husband and I like to frequently visit Pleasure Pier where we take our little one to burn off some of her energy. She has so much fun just being in the excitement of all the commotion and getting on the rides with daddy.
Afterwards we walk across the street and grab a quick bite at Fishtails which is a popular place to eat while in Galveston. You have the beautiful view of the ocean and if it is nighttime then there is the beautiful view of the lights from Pleasure Pier. There is something for everyone and in the future I will be listing things to do while visiting Galveston.
Thanks for stopping by V
