It’s November and if you are like me, then you might have plenty of candy leftover from Halloween. I always buy a lot of candy because I would rather be left with extra candy than to run out of candy when there is still plenty of trick or treaters in the area.
No worries, that extra candy can be put to good use to create Thanksgiving goodies for guests and for little ones. Just read below to see how I was able to create three festive ways to use that leftover Halloween candy.
Pilgrim Hat Cookies
Items Needed:
- M&M’s or Reese’s Pieces
- Cookies – (I used the Keebler Fudge Stripes)
- Frosting-(I used the Pillsbury Funfetti Neon Yellow Vanilla) it saved me the trouble of using food coloring.
- Reese’s Miniature Peanut Butter Cups
Directions: Place cookie upside down, then put a small amount of icing to hold the Reese’s Miniature cup. Use icing to outline the mini cup for hat and place a Reeses Pieces Place more icing on Butter Cup to hold the Reese’s Pieces.
Candy Cornucopia
Items Needed:
- M&M’s or Reese’s Pieces
- Sugar or Waffle Cone
- Saran Plastic Wrap
- Ribbon
Directions: Soak tip of sugar cone in warm water for 15-20 seconds. Then place in microwave for about 20-30 seconds or when tip gets softened. Roll tip slowly to make a curve. Once cones are completed and tips are dry, fill with candy. (Put candy in plastic wrap and twist or tie to close) Place in cone and tie ribbon on outside of cone.
Turkey Cookies
Items Needed:
- M&M’s
- Reese’s Miniature Peanut Butter Cups
- Sugar Cookies (or whichever flavor cookie you prefer) I prefer to use the Pillsbury ready to bake cookie. It saves time and less mess.
- Edible Eyes
- Frosting
Directions: Once cookies are baked attach a Reese’s Miniature cup with frosting. Then put frosting onto M&M’s to make the turkey feathers. Add eyes to top of the Reese’s. Then use frosting to make the legs.
