Houston Zoo
I can’t believe we are already in April! To me the weeks always seem to fly by fast when returning back to work from Spring Break. Before long it will be summer vacation and after today, only eight more Mondays to go. I don’t really have any plans just yet besides the Houston Zoo but I am still longing for a road trip to Marfa, Texas. (hint, hint to my hubby who always reads my blog posts).
I am excited the weather in Texas is starting to warm up a bit and it seems just perfect for outdoor activities. Not too hot or humid. During Spring Break I took Savanah to the zoo three times during the week. We had so much fun and the weather was beautiful. The Houston Zoo is also a great way for me to get some exercise from all the walking while spending quality time with my little princess. Her two favorite animals are the giraffes and elephants. As long as she gets to see those two animals, she is fine and happy.
Membership Perks
We have a Zoo Membership which I highly recommend. No long lines to wait and once a month the zoo is open an hour earlier to zoo members. Members also receive an invite to Zoobilee (a day just for members), ticket discounts to the carousel ride and many more perks.
When we visit the zoo, we usually do one big circle around the zoo while stopping to see some animals, followed by a ride on the carousel, a trip to the playground and a short visit to the petting zoo (all located within the Children’s Zoo area). By this time Savanah starts getting moody which means she is tired and ready for a nap. Depending on how she feels we usually end our daily trip to the zoo with a train ride. Choo-Choo!
If you live in the Houston area and have not been to the zoo in a while, it would be a great time to take the family. There has been so many changes made to the zoo with lots more to come. I also recommend going early in the morning when it is not as busy and parking is easily available. In my opinion it will make things a lot less stressful.
For more zoo info go to Houstonzoo.org for hours and pricing.
Thanks for stopping by!
